Dear Friend,

We are very pleased to have the opportunity to express support of the short film, Tootie Pie. The development team at Carrie Productions and I are very excited about this project. Tootie Pie describes a very human experience and is a girl’s rite of passage story not often portrayed in film. The story is of a kind that Carrie Productions believes in, reflecting not only a Black experience, but also a universal experience.

After reading the script and proposal, our sense is that the story will undoubtedly be told with compassion and cinematic vision; we are impressed with the expertise and talents exhibited by the three women who comprise Tootie Pie Productions and the team they put together.

We believe the project has Academy Award qualifying potential and we proudly support its creation.

A Letter from Sandra Cisneros

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to support Tootie Pie, a film based on Rosalind Bell's writing. Rosalind is a writer I admire deeply for her marvelous gift of story. It's this gift of capturing a young girl's vision that is continued in the film script version, and done so with honesty and heart.

I am a fan of Rosalind Bell, whether in fiction or film. I have great faith in whatever she does.
